Welcome to
Ingleton - land of caves and waterfalls. Our
village nestles against a back drop of wooded valleys containing
many beautiful and rare flowers and plants and is surrounded by the
rugged limestone thrown up 300 million years ago when the earths
crust was buckled and broken along the great fault lines to give us
the fantastic scenery we enjoy here today.
We have
recently formed our Ingleton in bloom group and this is our first
entry to the competition. We chose to make our entry as we were
eager to let it be known just what a lovely village we live in, one
that has so much to offer both through its numerous public
amenities, and its busy, thriving community which makes constant
use of all the facilities to the extent that the community centre is
often fully booked with jumble sales, pantomime productions,
Horticultural shows you name it - its all going on in Ingleton.
Our somewhat remote position brings about a huge commitment from
within, as residents are determined to find their enjoyment,
pleasure, pastimes plus day to day needs - shopping, care, support
from the network of resources available here, choosing not to
travel to distant towns except when absolutely necessary.
The
Ingleton In Bloom group is open to all and is well supported by the
Parish Council and Craven district Council. We hope in the future to
involve the local schools and scout group in our efforts to raise
the profile of our village through the competition. |
